Ndeda Loba and the Bamiléké men’s choir from Douala, big winners!
The Ndeda Loba choir and the Douala men's choir are the big winners of the 1re edition of the Douala choral singing festival.
Six choirs took part in the 1re edition of the Douala choral singing festival which took place held from May 16 to 17 at the La Chaumière restaurant in Bonapriso. These are: the Bamileke men's choir of Douala, the Ndeda Loba choir, the Mey choir of the UEBC, EPJ of BONAKOUO, the Mount Cameroon Mens Choir of Buea and the JAPE choir.
Certain criteria were taken into consideration for the evaluation by the members of the jury in particular. These are the tone, the execution of the song, the direction of the heart among others. This choral singing competition was divided into two categories, namely the men's choir category and the mixed choir category. For the first day, the Bamiléké men's choir from Douala stood out from the rest of the choirs. A symphonic particularity that has won over. For promoter Josué EKOBO, this festival aims to become a meeting place for singing together. That is to say, to make it possible to bring together as many choirs as possible in Douala each year to sing in all the languages of Cameroon, to commune together and sing together in order to contribute to a beautiful way of advocating living together in Cameroon.
The big winners received distinctions and prizes to encourage them in this celestial work, where these beautiful notes open the floodgates of heaven. The maestro of the MEY choir, winner of the mixed category, Charles EYOUM came out satisfied with this great experience and grew, especially since he received advice from elders in the maestro profession.
Advice, they had these different choristers and the results for the promoter JOSUE EKOBO are considered generally satisfactory, to the extent that the competition took place despite the shortcomings noted. A successful bet for the promoter. Now, eyes are turned towards the 2th edition which promises to be full of great innovations.
