Women take control of emotional dependence

Women take control of emotional dependence

Emotional dependence is defined as the psychological inability of a person to live without the approval or positive judgment of another.

In the world in general, and in Christian circles in particular, many men and women suffer from it, both consciously and unconsciously. For many, this dependency is an obstacle to personal development and fulfillment. "It's a behavior we have when we absolutely seek approval from someone else. We lean on the person to live, to exist, and that's one of the emotional dysfunctions, because each person has to take responsibility for themselves emotionally, and the love of another person has to be a bonus..." explains Barbara DJIMO, a mental health specialist and speaker at the meeting.

The aim was also to raise awareness of the source of emotional dependence. It can have its origins far back, either in the mother's womb or in childhood. According to the speakers, many today are the fruit of the wounds of rejection, abandonment, betrayal and injustice, among others. it's important to talk about it," she adds, "because when you're emotionally dependent, you let yourself go to the worst extremes, and Christians much more so, in the name of dependency, you sweep your values under the carpet because you're looking for the love you missed out on from your parents, your loved ones or even the love you lost after a betrayal.

Having been a victim herself, Éliane Lafortune KAMENI urged the audience not to accept living in such conditions, which in the long run can be a source of dangerous illnesses that can lead to death. In her address, she stressed that it is possible to overcome emotional dependence, provided you are willing to do so, by accepting the existence of the problem, seeking help from experienced people and applying God's word about your identity in Christ. "Emotional dependency is real. I was a victim of it for several years! And, as I said earlier, you have to be able to identify that you're suffering from it and decide to heal. You have to get help and work intentionally to get out of it, always with the help of the Holy Spirit," she stresses.

The heart-to-heart encounter was satisfying for the visionary of the One Woman, One Success movement, who was keen to unravel the mystery by leading the audience to learn to love themselves and let themselves be loved as recommended by the Lord. "The vision started from an experience with God; from which, I came out depressed, and I prayed for him to take me away. He said no, I'm sending you to other people whom you're going to help by bringing out their potential and taking them to success. Because failure is not final. Every woman has potential, and you have to help them discover what it is... So I'm fully satisfied."

The appointment closed with moments of prayer, deep deliverance and a family photo.
