Operation Nineveh: the fruits of a mission accomplished

I. Presentation of the mission field

Mokolo is a town in Cameroon located in the Far North region, near the border with Nigeria, at the foot of the Mandara Mountains. It is almost mainly inhabited by the Mafa. It is the capital of the Mayo-Tsanaga department.

It is a fertile area, and the inhabitants live mainly from agriculture. As usual, we chose to live in a remote location.

II. The growth of the host church

Our mission was to preach the Gospel and work with the pastor who received us. We were pleasantly surprised to see that our visit to Mokolo last year contributed to the numerical growth of the church.

III. Missionary action

Our mission began to bear fruit from the bus that transported us from Yaoundé to Garoua. My neighbor who is a student at the University of Maroua, received the Lord on the bus.

The evenings were filled with evangelical projections.

Several people expressed the desire to follow the Lord.

We were also marked by the presence of three teenagers who last year committed to following the Lord. They came to meet us. They currently attend the Lutheran Fraternal Church.

IV. Difficulties encountered

The main difficulty encountered was the state of the road. We left Yaoundé early in the morning of Thursday, and arrived in Mokolo very late on Friday night.

V. Prayer points

• Let us give thanks to God for the transports of joy he has given us
• Let us give thanks to God for the great harvest
• Let us pray for the strengthening in the faith of those who have committed to following Christ
• Let us pray especially for many Muslims who have committed to following the Lord
• Let us pray for the pastor who welcomed us, so that he can work to receive a good part of those who believed in the church
• Let us pray for the next mission of October 2024

This mission was only possible thanks to your support. We pray that the Lord grants us the grace to participate in the next mission which will take place in the third or fourth week of October 2024.
