Operation Nineveh: good health as the state of the soul
Operation Nineveh (Saturate the world with the Gospel)
Report of the Boumnyebel 2024 Medical Campaign
By Ps Yomsi Maurice tel. 237 675177554/697551898
Introduction
After crying to God for several months, he listened to our prayers and granted us all the necessary authorizations for the organization of this campaign. This report not only aims to report on this campaign, but also seeks to enlighten all people who would one day like to organize a medical campaign in Cameroon.
I. The procedure
It is necessary to go through a hospital organization recognized by the State. The State is right not to leave public health in the hands of strangers. This organization should, through its director, make a request to the Minister of Health if the campaign takes place in the medical area outside its competence.
If it is in the medical area where this organization is able to organize campaigns, the request is addressed to the Regional Health Delegate. Our case fits with the first hypothesis. The letter was therefore addressed to the Minister of Health. After fruitful discussions with the Director of Health Promotion, the Minister gave us an agreement in principle, subject to the application of the action plan to the Regional Delegate.
The Delegate, when the action plan meets the required conditions, orders the head doctor of the district hospital to offer technical support to the applicants. It is therefore necessary to contact the latter before initiating any medical action.
However, the Sub-Prefect being the head of the land, a duly stamped request should be placed on his table. It must be accompanied by a photocopy of the authorization in principle from the Minister and a photocopy of the letter from the Delegate to the chief physician of the district hospital. It is when we have in hand the receipt of the declaration of the public demonstration of the Sub-Prefect that the campaign can begin.
II. Preparations
We by faith produced flyers even before presenting our action plan to the Delegate. This saved us time. Having received all necessary authorizations, we began by cleaning the medical campaign site.

We then built a “clinic” using materials provisional

The waiting room was tarpaulins outside our “clinic”

IV. The protocol
A. The medical protocol
It all started with medical awareness. Each department took turns. The numbers were given to the patients and everyone passed on the basis of their number, with the exception of the village chief who had priority.
The called patient should first go to the KYN (Know Your Number) department. Here all the parameters of the patient were taken. Calculations of body mass, height, blood sugar levels, etc. were done. The patient received advice whether at risk of diabetes/hypertension or not.

This patient was sent to the general consultation. Here, depending on the need, the doctor sent him, either to the laboratory or to a specialist.

There were several specialists :
1. The dentists

2. Ophthalmologists

3.The department of cervical prevention or vaccination of children aged 9 to 14.

4. The pharmacy

5. Everyone ended up with our psychologist for a final interview
B. Missionary Protocol
The day for everyone began in the waiting room. Pastor Maurice talked to everyone about the reason for our action. The text of Mt 9:35 was the main verse where the message was based. Alongside this text, there was also that of Lk 4.18 and Jn 1.29.
In summary, the message said that Jesus' mandate on earth was multifaceted. He would travel through towns and villages, announcing the good news and healing the sick. May he have sent us as the Father sent him, so the mission of the Church is not only to save the souls of men, but to save man holistically. This integral mission therefore encompasses care to eradicate the disease which paralyzes the psychosomatic action of man.
Our visit to Boumnyebel therefore had three components:
➢ Treat the sick on a physical level by facilitating their access to doctors
➢ Draw the attention of patients to another disease that no doctor can heal: sin
➢ Help patients visit Doctor Jesus to be healed from the disease of sin

After this message to which several people committed to receiving Doctor Jesus in their hearts for the healing of sin,

The missionaries approached the patients who were waiting for their numbers to be called with a well-defined protocol:
➢ Present yourself to the patient as part of the medical campaign team
➢ Ask him about the illness he was suffering from
➢ After listening to him, ask him if he would like us to pray with him
➢ Ask him for permission to read a passage from the Bible
➢ Explain the passage in a few minutes
➢ Wisely initiate a call to invite Jesus into the heart
Several people were also converted through this protocol

V. Difficulties encountered
➢ Administrative burdens
➢ Heavy rains
➢ Few medical staff
➢ Lack of capacity to buy glasses for all patients
➢ A limited pharmacy
VI. Prayer points
✓ May the Lord bless the administration which granted us the required authorizations for this campaign
✓ May the Lord bless the doctors who sacrificed themselves for this work
✓ May the Lord bless the missionaries who accomplished a wonderful work
✓ May the Lord strengthen the faith of those who received Doctor Jesus in their hearts. Conclusion
This work could not be done effectively without your physical, financial, and above all spiritual support. Our next mission will take place in Makenene in the second or third week of November 2024. We will be very happy to see you by our side for this other mission.
Shalom!
