EKOK / MBANDJOCK mission report January 2025

By Pastor Yomsi Maurice -- Tel: (+237) 675177554/ 697551898

Introduction

The previously planned mission for Ekok finally took place in Mbandjock for reasons beyond our control. Ekok being a sort of island, during the December holidays, all our contacts had to travel to other locations. Unable to find them there, we decided to carry out our mission in Mbandjock.

Great was our joy to discover that the main deacon of the church which received us is a person whom we won to Christ four years ago during one of our missions in this locality. If you remember, it was the gentleman who helped us with his sound instruments when ours failed. In the photo above, that's him in red.

We were so happy to see that the word sown in his life bore so much fruit. Glory to God.

The Lord has given us grace to receive authorization for public demonstrations from the competent authorities. This opened the doors for us to settle where we requested for our missionary action.

I. Missionary action

Dear brothers/sisters, the Lord grants us the grace to see hundreds of people not only listening to the message of the Good News, but responding favorably to God's call. Planned for a week, we were only able to do a few days due to a generator breakdown.

A. The first day

This is where we screened “The Passion of Christ,” a film that talks about the deep suffering of Jesus, before, during, and after his crucifixion.

The preaching focused on the scope of Christ's suffering. The question we asked our listeners was simple: “Why did Jesus agree to suffer so horribly if his suffering and death had no impact on the lives of men? »

All the preaching was aimed at helping those who listened to us about the truth and effectiveness of the death of Jesus on those who believe in him. They receive forgiveness and remission of all their sins from God, just by putting their trust in Jesus. His death is the expression not only of the atonement for their sins, but also the manifestation of the substitution of the wrath of God from sinners to his Son. His atrocious death therefore spared us from the wrath of God which should fall upon us. He who believes in the Son of God is spared from this wrath. Likewise, through the virtues of the resurrection of Jesus, those who believe in him obtain the strength to live in a way pleasing to God. They receive the Holy Spirit, the pledge of their salvation, to help them in their new walk with God.

After having launched the call to those who asked to be saved from their sins, a multitude responded favorably.

B. The second day

The second day, we chose to project in a neighborhood closer to the church of the pastor who was in charge of the new converts.

We showed the same film. The same message was preached here, with a little nuance linked to the specificity of the neighborhood. God has again drawn a crowd to Jesus Christ.

C. The third day

The third day started with the car breaking down problems. A mechanic helped us fix it by the time we arrived in Yaoundé.

Everything seemed to start the evening very well with the screening

We showed the film “Facing the Giant”. Right in the middle of the film, the generator unexpectedly stopped working. We tried to do everything. But our efforts resulted in nothing concrete. Without losing courage, we decided to preach in the dark, using the telephone's lighting.

Someone must have taken this sermon on video. We will not fail to make it available to those who want to listen to it. All in all, God has surprised us with a considerable number of people who have expressed a desire to follow the Lord.

The car was no longer able to help us enough, add to it the breakdown of the generator which was not always repaired, we unpleasantly put an end to this fruitful mission.

II. Difficulty encountered

We encountered two major difficulties:

  • The breakdown of the car
  • The breakdown of the generator

III. Prayer subject

  • Let us give thanks to God for the completion of this mission
  • Let us give thanks to God for the faith of this senior deacon who believed during one of our missions four years ago
  • Let us pray for the spiritual growth of all the people who expressed the desire to follow the Lord during this mission
  • Let us pray for their integration into the church
  • Let us pray for the provision for a new generator
  • Let us pray for the provision for the repair of the mission car
  • Let us pray for the next mission.

Conclusion

May the honor and glory be to our God for all this that he accomplishes in all our missions. We nevertheless want to say thank you for agreeing to support us in our missions this year 2025. Without your support, we would have had great difficulty carrying out this mission. We will be very happy to have you by our side during our next missionwhich will take place from February 15 to 21, 2025 in EKOMBITE.

Shalom
