10th health campaign: Mercy in action in Douala

Free care, medical miracles, and an army of volunteers mobilized to bear witness to God's love through the 10th health campaign organized by the CMCI at the Hope Clinic Douala.

The curtain fell this Monday, July 7, on an extraordinary week at the Hope Clinic Douala. Thanks to the initiative of the works of mercy department of the International Christian Missionary Community, this 10th health campaign with free consultations opened its doors to more than 408 people, offering them access to essential and sometimes life-saving care. For seven intense days, 13 specialties worked tirelessly, day and night, producing results that command admiration. Imagine: 177 people regained better vision thanks to ophthalmology, 118 people benefited from general medicine consultations, and 66 women were able to be consulted in gynecology. Pediatrics, for its part, took care of 22 children, neurology 34, and surgery 60. Other crucial services such as dentistry (59 patients), ultrasound (40 patients), physiotherapy (27) and dietetics (3), spiritual medicine (15 people), without forgetting the 15 operations carried out in the operating room and the 19 nutritional follow-ups. The laboratory, the pillar of this campaign, carried out 533 examinations for 149 patients, testifying to the extent of the services offered.

This remarkable success is the fruit of the collaboration and dedication of volunteer doctors from various churches in our ministry, united by the same mission: the voluntary mercy of God.

During the closing ceremony, Pastor Martin Fatele, leader of the Douala church, warmly congratulated the nursing staff and all the volunteers who worked hard during this campaign. Based on the book of Luke 17:10, I quote: “You also, when you have done all that was commanded you, say: We are useless servants, we have done that which we should do. » He recalled the humility and sense of duty that animate these servants. A prayer of blessing was then said, commending all participants to the grace of God for the coming campaigns.
