In Douala, Easter 2026 set hearts ablaze: more than 40 lives restored
2026 EASTER CELEBRATION: DOUALA EXPERIENCES AN EVENING OF DIVINE VISITATION
Douala, April 5, 2026 More than 300 members of the Gospel community gathered this Sunday evening on the esplanade of the Barnabas Center in Logpom to experience together a moment of communion of rare intensity. The Great Easter Celebration, organized under the theme “Let us celebrate together the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,” lived up to all expectations, leaving a deep and lasting impression on everyone’s hearts.
The evening was marked by praise and salvation
From the very beginning of the evening, the atmosphere at the Barnabas Center was transformed by the powerful voices of the guest singers and worship groups. Pastor Leyi and the Joy of God group, the Douala Gospel Choir with Dr. Badjeck Landry, the group Les Adorateurs du Lieu Très Saint, as well as singers Gaëlle Eleme, Christine Moukory, and Thenella took turns leading the congregation in a genuine experience of God’s presence. Each of their performances helped create an atmosphere of intense celebration, where tears of joy and songs of victory mingled throughout the evening.
One of the highlights of the evening was Pastor Patrick Botagan’s message—restoration in the image of Samson
At the heart of the evening, this sermon—heavily inspired by the biblical figure of Samson—resounded as a powerful call to spiritual restoration. The message struck a deep chord with the participants, some of whom had lost sight of their first love for the Lord.
The result spoke for itself: more than 40 people stood up to pray the prayer of restoration with the pastor, who took the time to pray individually with each person who had come forward to be restored in their walk with the Lord, rediscovering a revived faith and a new spiritual vitality.
One person also publicly stepped forward to respond to the call to salvation and gave their life to the Lord Jesus Christ, recalling the words of Scripture that “there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.”
Voices from the Field: Unanimous Testimonies
The event’s organizer, Dr. Landry Badjeck, made no secret of his satisfaction:
“I am filled with joy because we achieved our goal. We wanted to present the Lamb of God. Souls were saved, lives were restored, the sick were healed, and the name of Jesus was exalted tonight.”
Pastor Baboulé David, of the Restoration of Life Ministry, highlighted the spiritual significance of the message:
“We have seen God’s children restored. Some had lost their vision, others their anointing, but God remains the God of restoration. One soul gave his life to the Lord, and that is enough to bring joy to heaven.”
Among the participants, José Bikelé, a gospel singer, shared that she had been personally moved:
“The program was truly a blessing, magnificent… the Lord visited me during this program.”
Ms. Mandessi Bell, despite a slight delay at the start of the evening, shared an enthusiastic testimony:
“It was a wonderful time, a true time of fellowship and blessing, especially at the start of the year.”
Pastor Thomas Bagouna, for his part, summarized the two main themes of the evening:
“There was the invitation to give one’s heart to Jesus, followed by the revival of the ‘Samsons’ whose hair had been cut. Many saw their lives restored and renewed.”
A flame of revival for the entire city
Beyond the times of preaching and worship, this Great Easter Celebration was also a time of deep fellowship among God’s servants, worship leaders, and believers from various ministries and churches in Douala. The unity manifested around the mystery of the Passover was, according to several participants, one of the most eloquent signs of God’s blessing on this event.
The city of Douala thus moves forward with a renewed sense of faith, driven by the hope that this flame of revival will continue to set more lives ablaze in the days to come. Somewhere between spiritual rebirth and divine visitation, the 2026 Great Easter Celebration will undoubtedly remain etched in people’s memories as an extraordinary evening.
The next event is already scheduled: an introductory seminar on consecration and sanctification for spiritual ministry, featuring Dr. Landry Badjeck. “So, as for what’s next, right after this program, we thought we’d organize a small… a mini-seminar, you see, that will bring together worship leaders from here and elsewhere, Christian musicians, and worship leaders from our churches.
The goal will be for each of us to share our experiences. Everyone will share their story, and we’ll certainly reflect on the experience we shared together during this program. And together we’ll explore how to improve our gospel gatherings so that they have a greater impact on our ministry—a greater spiritual impact—and so that we no longer do things just for “fun,” just for the sake of doing them, but that we do it so that something truly happens on a spiritual level—that people are saved, that people are restored, that people are set free through the gatherings we organize.
That’s it, and then, God willing, before the end of the year, we’ll definitely organize a big concert, a big celebration, a bit like this one, but on a larger scale, with gospel artists and worship bands from here and elsewhere. That’s it. ” Stay connected on the Camfaith website and share the news with everyone you know!
