THE NEW MAN IN CHRIST

"If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; behold, old things have passed away and all things have become new, and this is from GOD" 2Cor5:17

The passage of scripture we have just quoted could rightly be considered the landmark text that sums up the teaching that has occupied our thinking in recent times: and it begins with a conjunction (of subordination) that makes it possible to note the exclusive character of this reality, which does not apply to everyone, but only to those who fulfill the condition: being in Christ; this verse divides the world into two categories of people those who are in CHRIST and those who are outside CHRIST, and the Bible is clear on the radical difference that exists between the two types of peoplethe Bible is clear about the radical difference between these two types of people; it refers to those in Christ as a new creation, and those outside Christ as an old creation; by deduction.

A spirit man

When we try to understand this verse in the context in which it is taken, we can see that the reality described by the expression new creation is not a physical reality, for the apostle Paul, who established this truth moved by the Spirit of God, says in verse sixteen (16) that "we know no man after the flesh" 2 Cor 5:16. In the chapter that precedes chapter five (5) he says we look not at the things that are seen but at the things that are unseen, for the things that are seen are temporary and the things that are unseen are eternal ( 2 Cor 4:16). It's clear, then, that the new creation is a spiritual reality that requires the revelation of the Holy Spirit, for the apostle affirms in verse 7 of chapter 5 of 2 Corinthians that we walk by faith and not by sight 2 Cor 5:7; so it's by faith that we must walk, walking this itinerary that will enable us to discover who this new man is.and what we expect does not come from the opinions of men, but rather from the Word-Rhema of God; in other words, we need the illumination of the Spirit to understand a statement. As old things have passed away, all things have become new, and this comes from God; how can we explain that this gentleman who has just converted to the crusade has undergone a spiritual change in his nature, from the sinner he was to the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ through faith in CHRIST and only through faith 2 Cor 5:21. It is this lack of relegation that leads the church, blinded by ignorance, to continue to seek the spiritual origins of a newborn in the reign of the Spirit of Godin the origin of his parents in the flesh, thus saying that it is necessary to break the bonds of the latter with his carnal parents, forgetting the words of the Lord who said that those who receive him (CHRIST) become children of God John 1:12; and that what is born of the flesh is flesh and what is born of the Spirit is spirit John 3:6; according to this word of the Lord, the Christian's ancestor is the Holy Spirit, for he is born of him, and to know his origins implies knowing his progenitor, who is the Holy Spirit. For at the beginning of this course on the new creation we established that the BARA man is a man created from nothing, and we concluded that it was the spirit man Gen 1:27; and we saw that it was the body that was made in Gen 2 :7 to serve as his temple, and it is with good reason that the apostle Paul declares "For we know that if this tent where we dwell on earth is destroyed, we have a building in heaven which is God's handiwork, an eternal dwelling place" 2 Cor 5 :1. According to this passage, man is a spirit who dwells in a tent which is his body. If therefore the spirit changes, we can conclude that man has changed, for it is this man who dwells in the dwelling that the body is, the new man in Christ, therefore this new spirit having its origin from above, from God, which continues to dwell in the unredeemed body, which is still waiting to experience the consequence of redemption in its physical body. Rom 8:23. If man is the spirit that dwells in the body, as soon as the spirit changes man changes; this is a truth we must accept by faith, just as we accepted that CHRIST died 2010 years ago and that saved us. We looked for no physical evidence to support this truth; but attested it as true by faith. The great problem of the church is that it begins with faith and ends with reason, it begins with the Spirit and ends with the flesh Gal 3:3 . the Bible which says that God so loved................has eternal life Jn 3:16 is the same Bible that says that if someone is in CHRIST he is a new creation that old things have passed away and all things have become new, we don't need proof to believe it, the only guarantee we have is to ask ourselves the question who said it : it's the Holy Spirit, for it was through the Holy Spirit that men spoke on behalf of God; that's why Nicodemus, looking for the physical characteristics linked to the new birth, waits for Jesus to tell him that "the wind is blowing".sus to tell him this: "The wind blows where it wills, and you do not hear the sound, nor know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit" Jn 3:6. As you can see, it would be a waste of time to describe the effects of the wind with our own eyes, but like the wind, we can feel the manifestations of this experience.

IN CHRIST

The expression in CHRIST in the Bible is a very significant expression.the apostle is not saying that it's a matter of going to church, being baptized or confirmed to experience the new creation, but rather of being in CHRIST. The word CJHRIST comes from the Greek word CHRISTOS, or from the Hebrew MASSIAH, which means the one who is anointed, the one who is consecrated, meaning a change of position and government; for God created the whole human race by creating a man in whom he placed the seed of that first humanity which had fallen into sin and corruption. "Therefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death, and so death spread to all men because all sinned" Rom 5:12; "so then, as by one offense condemnation has reached all men, and even by one act of righteousness life-giving justification extends to all men" Rom 5:18. So there are two men in the Bible who are designated by the technical expression federal head; two representatives of two humanities whose deeds affected the entire races : the apostle Paul completes it by saying "the first man Adam became a living soul, the last Adam became a life-giving spirit, but what is spiritual is not the first it is what is animal; what is spiritual comes next, the first man drawn from the earth is earthly; and the second man is from heaven. As is the earthly, so are the earthly; as is the heavenly, so are the heavenly." 1 Cor 15:45-48

Here's the picture the apostle Paul paints of CHRIST and ADAM

Since the Bible says that we are in Christ, it wants us to understand that we are in the government of CHRIST, with all the realities that Christ represents. Everything that characterizes Adam's government: sin, death, disease, poverty, chaos, fatalism, fear, despair is no longer yours; you are in Christ and inherit all that Christ possesses and represents. In CHRIST we have all that Christ is, we have all that Christ has; that's why he took us to the cross to die for us and with us, so we rose glorious and victorious over Satan; because the new man in CHRIST has his origin in victory, we won't defeat Satan because we've defeated him in CHRIST, because we've defeated him in Christ.we won't defeat Satan because we've defeated him in CHRIST, because everything CHRIST did he did with us, from his crucifixion to his resurrection; never forget that he didn't just do it for us, but also with us, and it's this last part that's most important. We have no reason to be complexed by the fact that we have conquered him and will continue to do so.

The need for revelation

"That's why I too have waited to hear of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your charity for all the saints. I never cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.sus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, and that he may enlighten the eyes of your heart, so that you may know what is the hope that attaches to his call ...."Eph 1:15-18.

After describing the new position of the Christian in the opening verses of chapter one of Paul's epistle to the Ephesians: as "in him we have become heirs ........" Eph 1:11 . "in him God has chosen us" Eph 1:4; "in him God has predestined us" Eph 1:5; "in him God has made us acceptable" Eph 1:6; "in him we have redemption" Eph 1:7; God has abundantly poured out his grace on us through all kinds of wisdom and understanding Eph 1:8.

After declaring these things about the identity of this new man, the apostle says he prays that God will illuminate, bring light, understanding about these truths at last.hension about these truths so that the Ephesians could appropriate them; and the apostle, after teaching, invested his time in prayer. This leads us to understand that although CHRIST's work is perfect, we need to receive an understanding of it in order to activate ???? and bring about glorious changes in our experience; and the church, instead of directing its work in the same direction as the apostle, has instead createdother teachings stipulating that a new man in CHRIST is possible when the apostle says that God has blessed us with all kinds of spiritual blessings in heavenly places in CHRIST Eph 1:3. CHRIST won't do anything new, he's already done what he was supposed to do, just as when we received him he didn't go to the cross to die again, so we've just appropriated this blessing.everything the Bible says about us is true; but it becomes real when we appropriate it by faith, which is why the word "receive" is so important in the New Testament.. . to all who have received him" the word receive here comes from the Greek word LAMBANO: which means to identify what belongs to you and make it your own.
