The Christian and sadness

Jeremiah the prophet was truly saddened by the situation of Israel, because everything had been destroyed. One of the reasons that can lead the believer to be sad is the ruin of the church like our Lord Jesus who could cry over Jerusalem which had missed his visitation. However, are we really sad to see the increasing ruin of the church?
